ASBT/ASSBT 2021-2022 Rules

 

• All bowlers must be ASBT/ASSBT members*!

• The format for most stops will be as follows: A 5 game block of qualifying across no less than 16 lanes with the field being cut to the top 16/ 8/ 4- depending on the number of entries. Bowlers will move no less than one pair to the right after each game. The top 16/8/4 will then be seeded into a 16/8/4-person double elimination bracket. All matches will be single game with a double elimination format. Lane assignment will be determined by being listed on the list of bowlers for that stop. Practice will be on starting pair only and will be for either 10/15  minutes, depending on how many bowlers, are on the pair .  Most stops will have 10 minutes of practice!
 
We will offer several stops with 2-3  on the team!

• A $20.00 ASBT/ASSBT yearly membership fee will be charged to all bowlers. $13.00 from each new bowler goes to the top 16/top five point leaders, $2 for those bowling all stops, and $5 for expense.

*FOR THOSE BOWLERS OVER 65 YEARS OLD, THAT CHOOSE TO NOT BE A PART OF THE POINTS SYSTEM THIS FEE WILL BE WAIVED!

• Entry fee for the ASBT:  $130.00/ 8 stops, with a breakdown as follows; $100.00 - prize////$20.00 - lineage////$5.00 - expense////$5.00 for Top 16 and points leaders. 

Entry fee for the ASSBT: $130.00/11stops with a breakdown as follows; $95.00-Prize/$20.00-Lineage/$5.00-expense/$10.00 Top 16 and points leaders.

LINEAGE MAY VARY BY BOWLING CENTER PRICES.

We will offer a NON MEMBER FEE of an additional $30.00 plus the entry fee, for those choosing to not become a MEMBER!  This fee will be added to that events prize fund.

All ASBT/ASSBT members will be allowed to notify the tournament to hold a spot, once a member NO SHOWS/NO CALLS after notice has been given then all future stops will have to be pre-paid, and said bowler will receive minus 51 points for the first offense, the second offense will be minus 100 points and the third offense said bowler will lose all points earned at the last stop he/she bowled in!

• $50.00 deposit will be required for stop where there is a limit of less than 24/32/40/60 teams or 48 bowlers.

• Entry fees are non-refundable.

• No refund will be given on deposits for no-shows. Once deposit is made, if you can’t attend, contact the Tournament Director by Wednesday prior and credit will be given at a future stop. If you no show with no notice, this money will become expense money.

• ASBT will pay no less than one in four ratio . Prize fund will be paid 100%. We will cut to EITHER 4/8/16  for the finals depending on entries,

and pay those above this number based on a 4:1 ratio, for example with 44 entries we would pay 11 places with the TOP 8 making the finals!

the over/under doubles in Memphis will cut to the top 16 with a full field of 60 teams.

ASSBT will pay no less than one in three ratio, prize fund will be paid 100%. We will cut to 4/8/16  for the finals depending on entries, and pay those above this number based on a 3:1 ratio, for example with 30 entries we will pay 9th and 10th with the Top 8 making the bracket! The Trio's in Memphis will cut to the top 16 with a full field of 40 teams.

• ASBT check-in time is at 8:00am-8:45am, calcutta at 8:45am, bowl after.

• ASSBT check-in time is at 10:00am-10:30am, calcutta at 10:30am, bowl after.

These times are subject to change based on the bowling centers     

  schedule!

Check in time both days in Memphis will be from 8am-9am with the Calcutta at 9am and bowling as soon as Calcutta is over!

• No practice once meeting has started, on lanes not being used that event!

• Final score sheets must be filled in completely and turned in to tournament desk to cash.

• Two re-racks per game. Any re-rack after first two must be approved by a tournament Director.

• Qualifying will determine points for those put out during the same round of the bracket. The high qualifier will receive one point for every bowler/team in that tournament with a minimum of 25 points.

• Tournament Director and all Directors bowling in said tournament will have final ruling on all disputes and rules.

• All Directors and house employees will be allowed to bowl.

• The ASBT/ASSBT season starts in Aug and run through August. The Top 16 Tournament will be in August. The Top 16 Tournament will be held in one of the two central Arkansas Bowling Centers –  ALLFAM,  MILLENNIUM and will rotate depending on their availability.

The ASBT  Top 16 will be bowled on a  pattern – NOT A HOUSE SHOT. The ASBT  Top 16 end of the year tournament will be a 8 game match play (single game) with a 30 pins bonus for each win and 15 pins bonus for a tie.  The top 8 in points will bowl the bottom eight in points with all pins carrying over, total pins after eight games will determine the Champion, and all places. 

 The ASSBT Top 16 will be bowled on a modified pattern – NOT A HOUSE SHOT. The ASSBT Top 16 end of the year tournament will be an 8 game match play (single game) with a 30 pins bonus for each win and 15 pins bonus for a tie.  The top 8 in points will bowl the bottom eight in points with all pins carrying over, total pins after eight games will determine the Champion, and all places.

 DRESS CODE WILL BE STRICTLEY ENFORCED AT THE TOP 16 TOURNAMENT.  SLACKS WITH A COLLARED OR MOCK COLLARED SHIRT WITH NAME ON THE BACK IS REQUIRED TO BOWL! NO HEADGEAR OR HATS NO BLUE JEANS!

• One pair courtesy each side will be given.

• NO unsportsman like conduct will be tolerated. You may be asked to leave without refund of entry fees by the House Mgr. or Tournament Director.

• NO PROFANITY OR OBSCENE GESTURES WILL BE TOLERATED. NO WARNING!  NO ONE IS ALLOWED IN THE PIT AREA ONCE BOWLING STARTS, THIS INCLUDES QUALIFYING AND THE FINALS!

•  PBA (ONLY) BOWLERS with a NATIONAL TITLE (last 2 years) will NOT be allowed to bowl, all other are eligible to bowl!  PBA 50 AND PWBA CHAMPIONS ARE ALLOWED TO BOWL

• RETURNED CHECK FEE $50.00,

• The Tournament Directors reserve the right to accept or reject any entry.

• Approximately 30 minutes after the Top 16 starts then all those that did not make the finals will be allowed to cash out from the side action.

• Limit of 3 bowlers per lane. ONE STOP MAY BE A 4 PER lane

• Tie-breakers

• Qualifying – highest game during qualifying to be used to determine position for all spots except the last spot of the finals.

• Ties for the 16th spot in the finals will be a 9th & 10th frame roll off, if still tied one ball each until tie is broken.

• Finals – 9th & 10th frame roll-off, if still tied one ball each until tie is broken.

• ASBT will offer 12 tournaments during the season that will be run on MODIFIED HOUSE SHOTS or ASBT PATTERNS with the length varied from 34-48 feet.

ASSBT will offer 12 stops with all being bowled on a HOUSE SHOT(6) or one of the White Patterns(6).

• A bowler who withdraws/quits, without reason (emergency/illness/injury), will receive 0 points for that stop and will not receive a refund of any kind. If a player DNF’s twice in one season then that player is barred for that season. If a director withdraws/quits, without reason (emergency/illness/injury), he/she will lose their directorship.

FINALS

​

• All bowlers will receive five minutes of practice on their starting pair of the finals (Top 16/8/4),  The ASBT & ASSBT will allow two balls of practice per lane per bowler  between each match.  Those that win two matches and take a break will be allowed two balls per lane prior to the start of their round three matches.

• The higher seed has his/her choice of starting first or second. The bowler that starts always starts on the left lane. Once we have reached the finals the bowler in the winner’s bracket has his/her choice of starting vs. the bowler from the losers bracket.

• TARDY BOWLERS: If you are not there when we start practice (lane assignment made) and if you have not notified us of
your intention of being late then you will not be allowed to bowl or receive points. If notice has been given and a spot is being held on said lane, then said bowler will be able to start in that frame with zero given for frames missed, not later than 5th frame of the first game and points given for what ever place said bowler finishing said stop.
If bowler is not there to start the tournament (practice) and no notice has been given then no points will be given and bowler will not be allowed to bowl said stop. Once a bowler starts a tournament and decides to withdraw then points will be given if it is an un for seen emergency, (death/injury/illness or other that will be looked at on a case by case issue with the Director's bowling said stop). If bowlers withdraw for any other reason then NO POINTS will be awarded.

• PACKAGE DEALS: There are NO REFUNDS on package deals for any reason. The package deals will not guarantee a
bowler points, it will just ensure a spot at each stop if said bowler request a spot prior to said tournament being full and, pending the number of stops bought in the package deal.

•  Points system; for all ASBT and ASSBT singles stops:

Points system; for all ASSBT multiple person stops will be based on qualifying/finish with a 60/40 % split, so the high qualifier would earn 360 based on qualifying then if his team finished third he/she would earn an additional 200 points. The top half of the rest of the field will earn 60 points and the bottom half will earn 40 points.  HIGH QUALIFIERS WILL EARN ONE POINT PER BOWLER/TEAM IN THE EVENT THAT DAY, NO LESS THAN 25----ASSBT/ASBT

For the ASBT the top half of the rest of the field will receive 100 and the bottom half receiving 75.    During the  CABOT/AUG stop, it will be 275 for bottom half and 300 for the top half!

• All bowlers that are checked in by meeting time will earn 25 bonus points! Check in time will be 8:45am on the ASBT and 10:30am on the ASSBT, unless times are changed per the request of the bowling center!
